This 3-hour workshop was designed around a number of activities for participants to complete in pairs or groups and whole-group discussion. The focus of the session was to give participants the opportunity to review material covered online about the secondary stage classroom management and apply it to their own teaching contexts, sharing ideas along the way. We tried to brainstorm different types of interaction patterns in a classroom and to think of solutions to challenges related to learner-centred activities. We also reflected on participants’ own issues related to managing learner-centred activities and suggested practical solutions. We also evaluated and improved a set of classroom instructions for learner-centred activities in order to create a checklist for good classroom instructions and eventually we evaluated the purpose of monitoring in different situations.
