I have received a question on Facebook from some teachers regarding our new programme: HTPS (How to Teach Primary Students). They mainly asked about the difference between CELTP and HTPS. And as many of you know, CELTP stands for Certificate in English Language Teaching Primary, a nine-month course by Cambridge University Press & Assessment. CELTP was a great course. However, it had been stopped by Cambridge; a decision that was not the first of its kind as Cambridge had stopped the CELTA YL before. These two previous decisions left Cambridge without any big courses targeting teaching primary students. And as a normal reaction to the teachers’ needs, we collaborated with Cambridge local office in cairo to release a course where candidates are given face to face input sessions and asked to deliver teaching practice lessons at Britishey. They also study ten modules on teaching primary students on the LMS of Cambridge university Press & Assessment. These modules remain open for them for a whole year so that they can re-access their content any time. Now as for the differences between HTPS and CELTP, the HTPS course takes one month if intensive and three if part time. Each candidate receives eleven certificates: 10 automatically generated for the Cambridge LMS modules and a collective one from both Cambridge University Press & Assessment and Britishey Training Centre.
We hope we see you there on our new programme with Cambridge. Your professional development is all what we care about.
