ACHIEVEMENTS IN INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENT AREAS
The grades in this section refer to the individual areas of assessment listed in the Cambridge CELTA Syllabus and Assessment Guidelines. AREAS OF ACHIEVEMENT:
Basma showed good progress during the course. She had good planning skills. Her lesson plans were always well-staged and described in sufficient detail. She often used the correct template which matched the correct framework of each lesson she was presenting. She also maintained good rapport with students and an encouraging learning atmosphere in class. She had very effective and unobtrusive monitoring which was consistent throughout the course. She used varied elicitation and feedback techniques. She also used to design and adapt materials in a very creative way to suit her learners. Basma could provide students with good receptive and productive skills lessons.
AREAS FOR DEVELOPMENT:
On the other hand, Basma has some areas to address to continue her professional development. She needs to work on reducing her unnecessary teacher talking time. She also needs to work on providing students with enough time to practice the target language in class and to provide Ss with proper feedback on their output. She should also work on providing students with simple and clear instructions and to use effective ICQs to check these instructions.

Overall, …………’s planning and teaching show satisfactory understanding of English language learning and teaching processes at CELTA level. Pass B ………… can plan effectively with some guidance. ……… can analyse target language well and select appropriate resources and tasks for successful language and language skills development. ……….. also can deliver effective language and skills lessons, using a variety of classroom teaching techniques successfully. ………. shows good awareness of learners and can respond so that learners benefit from the lessons. ……….can reflect on key strengths and weaknesses and generally use these reflections to develop her teaching skills. Overall, …………’s planning and teaching show good understanding of English language learning and teaching processes at CELTA level.
