It was a great chance to meet with a professional character such as Dr. Mohsen El-Shimy. Being a head of the English Department at the International Canadian College, he gave me the honour of being the designer of the new placement test system there. This great responsibility was a very strong motivational force and I started working as hard as I could to meet the criteria set by him. The test was designed according to the CEFR and the Canadian corpus. It contains four main different sections: grammar & lexis, listening, speaking and writing. Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting with the ELD members there and delivering a workshop on the new placement test. During the session, the attendees demonstrated how professional and experienced they are and I gladly answered their inquiries and responded to their worries. I believe the project will be a great success and I am looking forward to more cooperation with the CIC ELD in the future.
