In Britishey, we are applying the most recent theories for teaching and dealing with our lovely young learners, starting at the very young age of 4. In this video, we are applying Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligence theory of different learning modalities. According to Gardner, each person (student in this case) processes information differently depending on his/her personal way of thinking and intelligence. For the YL (young learners), the teacher can stimulate their intelligence the best while using auditory, visual, kinesthetic and tactile modalities of learning. In the video, the 5-year-old lovely Youssef is following a tactile modal by using the clay to form the words first with his own hands. Secondly, he is using the kinesthetic modal through searching and finding realia (authentic objects from his real environment to learn a specific concept). Finally, he is applying visual and auditory modals through using various colors, linking the letters of the word to the used realia and reading the final output clearly. Above all, Youssef is having so much fun while learning which is a main concept for Britishey YL, to learn while having fun.
