One of the words that we use a lot in Arabic is:
البتاعة دي والبتاع ده
And we usually use these when we cannot remember the name of something.
Now the question is how you can do this in English. And one of the ways of doing this is using one of these informal words:
(whatchamacallit, thingamabob, thingy , thingummy and thingamajig)

ناولني البتاع الأخضر اللي هناك ده.
Give me that green thingy over there.
البتوع الصفر دول حلوين أوي.
Those yellow thingamabobs are very nice.
