Short description Britishey Placement Test for Young Learners is a fun, friendly assessment designed to evaluate children’s English level in reading, listening, vocabulary, and grammar. It helps place learners aged 6–13 in the right course based on their abilities and age group.
Outcomes
  • Each child receives a result corresponding to a CEFR level (from Pre-A1 to B1+), providing a clear indicator of their current grammar and vocabulary proficiency.
  • Based on the test result and age, the learner will be placed in the most suitable course at Britishey—ensuring the right balance of challenge, support, and progress.
  • The test helps highlight which grammar structures and vocabulary areas the learner is confident in and where further development is needed.
  • With appropriate placement, learners begin their course at a comfortable level, building confidence and making effective progress from day one.
  • Parents receive a brief report with the child’s level and a course recommendation, along with suggestions for continued learning.
Requirements
  • The test is designed for children aged 6 to 13 years old.
  • Learners should be able to read simple words and sentences in English independently or with minimal support.
  • No Prior English Certificate Required
  • The test is intended for first-time learners or those unsure of their current level. No previous English study is required.
  • For children aged 6–9 taking the test online, a parent or guardian should be present to help with technical access only (not with answering questions).
  • Technical Requirements (for online test-takers): stable internet connection, a computer or tablet with a clear display (smartphones are not recommended), Google Chrome browser is preferred, headphones or speakers, if audio instructions are included
