Course Description

in course design or language education management. Delivered by Britishey Training Centre in a supportive, academically rigorous environment, the module enables experienced teachers and ELT professionals to develop specialist knowledge and produce a substantial written assignment for Cambridge English assessment.

Candidates may pursue one of two pathways, depending on their professional interests and career goals:

1. Course Design (Language Development Option)

This pathway focuses on designing a targeted programme for a specific group of learners. Candidates conduct a detailed needs analysis, select a recognised ELT specialism (such as EAP, Business English, teaching monolingual classes, or young learners), and design a 20-hour course that aligns with the identified priorities. The process includes setting course aims, building a coherent syllabus, developing assessment tools, and outlining procedures for evaluating course effectiveness. This option is ideal for teachers seeking to strengthen their skills in curriculum development and classroom-focused research.

2. ELT Management (Management Option)

This pathway is intended for professionals interested in organisational development within language teaching institutions. Candidates identify a need within an LTO—such as academic management, HR, customer service, or marketing—and produce a strategic change proposal. They apply situation analysis tools, define clear objectives, plan the implementation process, and design methods for evaluating outcomes. This option suits teachers, coordinators, and managers looking to advance into leadership and administrative roles.

Course Format and Scheduling

Britishey offers Module Three as a part-time programme each autumn and spring, with assignment submission in June or December. Candidates may join the course regardless of whether they have completed Modules One or Two, though prior study is recommended for intensive workloads. The course design pathway may include optional face-to-face sessions during Britishey’s summer intensive programmes; the management option is delivered fully online.

DELTA Tutor

I've been working in the ELT field for over 25 years across various settings and countries, taking on roles such as teacher, teacher trainer, assessor, examiner, and academic manager. Currently, I call Chiang Mai, Thailand, my home and for the last 6 years, I have been working mostly online on CELTA, DELTA and YL courses for several course providers. My work has always been a passion of mine, so the line between my professional and personal time often blends. Outside of ELT, I enjoy cooking, bowling, Turkish and Scandinavian literature, and occasionally catching a movie, going for a swim.

Alzbeta Polisenska

DELTA Tutor

I have been training teachers on CELTA courses since 2001 and became a DELTA tutor in 2009. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work extensively across Europe and Asia, delivering teacher training in countries such as Austria, Italy, Belgium, Kazakhstan, Thailand, and the Czech Republic. As a CELTA assessor, I’ve visited numerous centres and always value the chance to collaborate and share ideas with fellow trainers. Since the pandemic, my work has primarily shifted online, and I’ve continued supporting centres in the Czech Republic, China, Italy, Kazakhstan, Hungary, and Egypt. Outside of teacher education, I enjoy reading—usually with my tabby cat curled up nearby—and taking long countryside walks with my rough collie.
